The story starts a very long time ago at a high yet sheltered location where farmers once built their home, only to abandoned them again later on. The current owner saw its huge potential and decided to renovate the buildings. The property is made up of a former mill, a former barn and two houses, all of them on two or more levels. During the project that took many years all building materials were chosen with great skill and care. Recuperated bricks, tiles, beams and special feature pieces like old stone fireplaces and old wood burners are the norm throughout. The lay-out of the houses however showcases modern convenience with a practical lay-out and large spaces. The mix between the original country style and contemporary concepts has created an atmosphere with palpable authenticity which makes this country houses into the most welcoming homes possibile.
Splendid views of the valley alongside the property are visible from most rooms And course each house has a designated outdoor space to enjoy dayround. Three of the buildings form a U-shape. The central courtyard which gives access to the pool area one level up. Little alleys between them make it possible to wonder around. One cottage stands separately but within a short distance. Again more high quality recuperated materials have been used on the outside. The stone walls and steps, cotto pavements, and gravel paths blend in seamlessly with the abundant vegetation of the mature gardens surrounding the hamlet.
The main house on the valleyside consists of two seperate homes with a total of 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, two livings, two kitchens. The second house harbours 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living, kitchen and studio and is currently inhabited by the owner while the others are used for rental purposes. The courtyard cottage offers 2 apartments, one on each floor, with both a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The higher level cottage harbours a single apartments on two floors, with a bedroom, bathroom and living with kitchen.
Though 1 hectare may not seem much the surface suits the property just fine. As the land is sloping there are various levels with the top one featuring the pool area. Marine pine trees line this secluded oasis which offers an ample cotto sundeck wrapped around the infinity pool. The garden flows down from this level and runs downhill while embracing the buildings. Evergreens, ornamental olives, flowering plants and high trees all have their own place in this botanical paradise which is meticulously maintained. The greenery looks very pretty during all the seasons which is a great asset for the overall quaint looking grounds.
