The Corso Cavour where this home is located is one of our favorite streets in the ancient center of Perugia! With many quaint little shops, bars and restaurants it still exudes that wonderful atmosphere of the city before all big chain stores moved in. Authenticity, lively and liveable are the keywords and the city’s main square is only a short stroll away. The apartment is located in a nice old palazzo with an impressive entrance and according to us overall a really great deal!
From Corso Cavour a large door opens into a shared hallway with barrel-vaulted ceiling. A comfortable stone staircase leads up to the first floor which which the apartment shares with a law office. The home is currently equipped as an office but it’s very easy to imagine it as the wonderful home it can become.
The impressive double wooden front door is set in a very pretty stone frame and opens into a central hallway. Wooden floors with a timeless herringbone pattern spread out over all rooms. To the right a second hall gives access to what we imagine to become a very spacious and pleasant living room. It features beautiful high ceilings with ancient beams and bricks as well as an arch. The windows are tall and let in a flood of natural light. At two thirds of the length of the space a glass partition wall was placed to create a meeting room. We are convinced that space works fabulous as a large dine-in kitchen! There is plenty of space for a wall unit, an island as well as a dining area. An absolutely fantastic original detail is the ancient well in the outside wall with the water still visible below. Behind this future kitchen lies a hallway that leads to a bathroom with shower.
To the left of the front door lies a central room flanked by to two spacious bedrooms as well as one more bathroom with shower. The connecting room can definitely be a great tv room, study or additional sitting room.
Everything is in good condition and move-in ready. The apartment faces two quirky alleyways away from the traffic which ensures tranquility around the clock.
Thanks to its central location everything the center has to offer is right around the corner. Restaurants, shops, museums, galleries, and of course the major festivals like Umbria Jazz and Eurochocolate. Bus, mini metro and train stations are all at a short walking distance. With a long interesting history the ancient city offers many sight seeings opportunities and endless itinerary’s for walks to discover all the ins and outs. The city is also known internationally as a bustling student city and for its University for Foreigners.
