Ancient project

Pian di Marte is a sheltered location just behind the hills surrounding part of Lago Trasimeno. In this high in request and much appreciated area we can offer you this both delightful and interesting project consisting of a 2 houses and a church.  This Church of San Lorenzo was first build around the year 1400 and has therefore known a long history. For certain it owes its origins to the presence of  the slightly higher situated Torre Fiume, in medieval times an important military structure by virtue of its strategic position of control and sighting of the roads and anthropic settlements.

  The buildings

  Unfortunately time has taken its toll and currently the facade of the church is pretty much the only part left standing. The bigger part of the houses and stables has collapsed but the ruins clearly point out the floor plans of what once was an important place for the local community.

  It is possible to realize approximately 800 square meters in various separate buildings, leaving space for the imagination to fill in the blancs.

  The land

  A private gravel road of about 1 km leads up to the property. Approximately 4 ha. of land are included in the sale, the most of which is woodland and sloping. The current location of the building is on the crest of a hill with several terraces surrounded by dry stone walls facing south, just below the top. A perfect future spot for a pool and relax area.   Surroundings

  The area of Lago Trasimeno is well known by both Italians and foreigners alike. The lake is situated just south of Tuscany and has plenty to offer to vacationers as well as full time residents. Fun towns like Passignano and Castiglione del Lago are nearby. The bustling university city of Perugia is a mere 30 km away, the Perugia airport 40 km. Many more fascinating and delightful places like Assisi, Cortona, Siena and Arezzo are within easy reach. The area is splendid for hiking and touring, to discover the many hidden treasures of both Umbria and Tuscany.
